When you adopt a rescue dog you won't change the world but you will change the world for the dog you adopt.
When you have been matched with your dog we are happy to reserve him or her. However, we can now only reserve a dog for 2 weeks.
We want to help as many dogs as possible and if the kennels are full of dogs who already have their home, it blocks the space for all the lovely deserving dogs who are waiting to join us. Consequently, when prospective forever people visit there aren't any dogs for them to be matched with. We appreciate your support and understanding - it helps us help as many dogs as possible.

Prinny
Greyhound - Female - almost 2 years (8 July 2023)
Lovely little Prinny has joined us at Greyhound Rescue North East, she is still young but racing wasn’t for her so she’s looking forward to being a house dog. Prinny is a small, quiet greyhound with a sweet and loving nature. She is good on her lead and clean in her kennel and she settled in quickly when she joined us, so becoming someone’s dog will come naturally to her. She just needs a chance.

Morti
Greyhound - Male - 22 months (21 July 2023)
This gorgeous lad is young and full of life. He’s been with us a few weeks and is now ready to move on to his next adventure. We’ve been working with him on some basic training, he now knows how to walk on his lead and is generally well behaved but as he is still young and playful, Morti will need a strong or experienced handler who is happy to continue to reinforce his training. Morti is super friendly and excited to see everyone and would love his own person to have fun with and chill out with on the sofa at the end of a busy day, some treats would also be very gratefully received.

Andrew
Greyhound - Male - 2 years (13 July 2022)
Andrew is a sweetheart, he is calm and affectionate and enjoys making new friends and getting attention. He walks well on his lead when he’s out and about, and enjoys a zoomie in the exercise yard, so Andrew would really like his own garden. Food is a big deal to Andrew, meal times are always an exciting time and treats are very gratefully received. Andrew enjoys life and would really like to have his own person to enjoy life with.

Charlotte
Greyhound - Female - 20 months (August 2023)
Charlotte is enjoying her retirement but she will enjoy it a whole lot more when she is picked to be someone's dog and has her forever home. She is a very loving girl with a great personality, she makes friends with everyone she meets. Charlotte appreciates a nice walk followed by a nap and a snack. She is a well mannered, clean dog who will make the perfect companion all she needs is a chance.

Gem
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (1 January 2021)
Gem is a delightful, sweet girl on the lookout for her forever home. She has joined us at the Greyhound Rescue North East kennels and is enjoying retirement and her new relaxed life. Gem is a happy and friendly girl who goes out of her way to make new friends and spend time with her favourite humans., all she really wants out of life is someone to cuddle up to and shower her with lots of attention. Gem is a clean and well mannered girl who will adapt quickly to life as a pet and all the luxuries that come with it. She will make a welcome addition to any home, she just needs a chance.

Oreo
Greyhound - Male - 4 years (May 2021)
Oreo thought he was about to be moving onto his forever homed but unfortunatley it didn't happen. That mean someone else is going to be really lucky and get to have Oreo in their life.
Oreo is gentle sweet boy who loves a cuddle and lots of fuss from his people. His other favourite things are his food and nice walk. After a walk, Oreo likes to cuddle up in a comfy spot and relax for the rest of the day. He is going to love taking his spot on the sofa in his new forever home. Oreo doesn't ask for much out of life but has so much love to give, all he needs is a chance. Will you be that special person who gives Oreo his chance to be your dog?

Vita
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (1 October 2021)
Vita has joined us directly from the racing industry and is loving life at the kennels. She is sweet, calm and loving girl with a cute face and a sparkling personality, she really is the perfect pet dog in every way. She enjoys meal times and walks followed by some chill out time on the sofa. Vita is clean in her kennel and has adapted quickly to her new life at the rescue. Would you like to have Vita as part of your family?

Jonny
Greyhound - Male - 4 years (May 2021)
Jonny is on the search for his forever home with someone who is ready to have a friend for life.
Jonny is an affectionate boy who has so much love to give. Jonny would like a home with a garden because he loves playing outside and after his initial zooming around he likes to relax and be made a fuss of. One of Jonny’s favourite things is tasty treats, taking them gently from your hand. He is a wonderful boy who just needs a chance to be loved and appreciated.

Cee-Cee - Reserved

This happy face looking back at you is Cee-Cee. She’s an absolute sweetheart, she’s friendly and fun and just loves life. She enjoys the basic things in life, walks, food and naps, and her own human to enjoy these things with her will make her so happy. CeeCee competes to get everyone's attention and would love a home of her own where she can be top dog.

This adorable girl is called Lola. Lola is an affectionate girl who makes friends with everyone and likes all the typical dog things in life; food, chilling out, a good walk and spending time with her people. She is full of fun and personality and thrives on routine, so she will soon settle into a new home. Lady - Homed
Greyhound - Female - 4 years (1 October 2020)
Lady is absolutely lovely, she really is the perfect dog. She is pleased to see everyone and loves being the centre of attention. She is a friendly, affectionate girl who enjoys her meals and walk on nice day. During walk time Lady walks perfectly on her lead, and Lady is also clean and well behaved in her kennel. She will make a perfect pet and will soon adjust to being a house dog.

Bonny Boy - Homed

This cute little lad is waiting here for someone to love him. Who could resist, he is the perfect combination of cute and handsome, and he has the personality to match. He enjoys his food and walks, followed by some chill out time being made a fuss of. Bonny Boy needs to have a home of his own and someone to enjoy the summer with. This little lad has a friendly loving personality and will make a perfect addition to any home.

Storm is a real sweetheart who enjoys nothing more than being fussed over. He is happy to meet new people and make friends. He enjoys going on his walks and is well behaved on his lead. Storm has settled in quickly to life at the rescue kennels and he will be equally adaptable to his new life when he gets the chance to become a house dog. He is clean in his kennel, well behaved, enjoys chilling out in his bed and looks forward to meal times. Brindie - Homed
Greyhound - Male - 7 years
Brindie came to us in 2023 from a home. His person was unable to continue caring for him for medical reasons. Before coming to us he had lived in his home for 15 months.
Brindie’s story gets even sadder, we thought he’d found his happy ending when we re-homed him. Recently he was found wandering the streets by 2 lovely people who contacted us. The people who committed to him did not want him back. He is currently being fostered by the people who found him but they are unable to keep him long term because of their long working hours.
Brindie is perfect, a little quiet and shy but still friendly and affectionate. He has shown amazing resilience and is still happy to be in the company of humans. He enjoys meal times but isn’t a huge fan of kennel life and would like to be back in a home as soon as possible. Brindie is also good on his lead and enjoys his walks.
Brindie needs a home where he can feel safe wanted.

Millie is the perfect dog. She is a laid-back, friendly girl and enjoys every new day. Millie can’t wait to find a home of her own, where she can enjoy playing in the garden and spending time relaxing on the sofa. Millie is clean in her kennel and walks well on her lead. She will bring joy to the life of anyone who opens their heart to her and welcomes her into their home.

Penny is the perfect dog. She has come to us directly from the racing kennels where she has spent her entire life and she has settled in almost instantly – she will be exactly the same when she gets the chance to move into a home. Penny is a clean and well behaved dog who enjoys meeting new people and making friends. She is friendly and affectionate and loves to be made a fuss of. She will settle into any home were she’s appreciated, loved and cared for.

Viper is an affectionate young dog looking for a loving home where he can continue to grow and learn. He is loving life at the rescue, making new friends, being fussed over and just generally living his best life. He is yet to find out that things will get better still when he has his own person/people and sofa to chill out on. Viper loves new experiences and every walk is an enjoyable new adventure. He’s a friendly boy who adores his favourite people, food and treats. Viper is happy friendly boy who will make anyone's life happier. Viper is ready for his next adventure out into the world and to experience being someone's dog.
