When you adopt a rescue dog you won't change the world but you will change the world for the dog you adopt.
When you have been matched with your dog we are happy to reserve him or her. However, we can now only reserve a dog for 2 weeks.
We want to help as many dogs as possible and if the kennels are full of dogs who already have their home, it blocks the space for all the lovely deserving dogs who are waiting to join us. Consequently, when prospective forever people visit there aren't any dogs for them to be matched with. We appreciate your support and understanding - it helps us help as many dogs as possible.

Mick
Mick - 19 months - (13th Aug 2024)
Stunning lad Mick has only just joined us after taking an early retirement from racing.
He has settled into his new environment really well taking everything in his stride, when out on his daily walks he is finding it abit scary but with abit of reassurance he settles and continues to enjoy his walks,
Mick is only a young boy so is learning real quick, he is hoping he's not in kennels too long

Darlow
Greyhound - Male - 5 years (Jan 2021)
Darlow is a stunning five-year-old greyhound with a gentle heart and an easygoing nature. He’s been living in a loving foster home where he’s shown what a wonderful companion he is — calm, affectionate, and always ready for a cuddle. Darlow has adjusted beautifully to home life and has proven to be a kind, gentle soul who enjoys company and quiet naps.
Darlow is now looking for a permanent foster home. This means you welcome him into your heart and home just as you would your own dog — providing love, care, and companionship — while we continue to cover all vet bills. Darlow came to us with a broken leg, which has healed well. We don’t anticipate any ongoing medical treatment, but we don’t want his past injury to stand in the way of finding his forever person.
He’s a wonderful boy to have around — friendly with people, gentle on the lead, and happiest when he’s part of everyday family life. Darlow truly deserves a home where he can continue to enjoy comfort, affection, and the warmth of belonging. If you can offer him a permanent foster placement, you’ll be gaining a loyal and loving friend.

Elvis
Greyhound - Male - 2 years (Oct 2023)
Elvis is a young handsome greyhound with a relaxed, easy-going nature that’s very typical of the breed. He’s well behaved, gentle, and happy to take life at a slower pace, Elvis can be a little shy when meets new people but soon forgets and makes best friends in no time, He's enjoying his comforts just as much as his walks,
Elvis has settled into Greyhound Rescue real quick, so settling into his new home wont be much of a problem for him
He is clean in his kennel, walks nicely on the lead, and is well-mannered overall. Elvis would make a wonderful companion and bring happiness wherever he goes.

Jessie
Lurcher - Female - 20 months (April 2024)
Jessie is a lovely young lurcher with a gentle and sensitive nature. She can be a little shy when she first meets new people or experiences new things, but with patience and reassurance she quickly starts to relax and show her sweet personality.
She is very good on the lead and enjoys quiet walks, walking nicely and taking confidence from her handler. Jessie loves having the chance to stretch her legs, but she’s just as happy to settle down afterwards for some peaceful time.
Indoors, Jessie is calm and well-mannered, enjoying a cosy bed and the company of her people. She would thrive in a kind, understanding home where she can continue to grow in confidence and feel safe. Jessie is a gentle girl who will make a loyal and loving companion.

Abbie is a lovely 2-year-old greyhound with a easy going and loving nature. She is incredibly friendly and enjoys the company of everyone she meets.
Abbie is calm, polite, and social, happily mixing with her new kennel friends. She reads other dogs well and enjoys their company, making her a great choice for a home with existing dogs or for regular walks with canine friends.
She is also clean in her kennel and has good manners indoors. Abbie walks well on the lead, making walks relaxed and enjoyable.

Hope is a beautiful little greyhound who has joined us at Greyhound Rescue North East. Young, bright, and full of charm, she’s quickly captured hearts with her gentle nature and playful spirit. Hope loves to be around people and takes everything in her stride — she’s curious, affectionate, and always happy to see a friendly face.
Hope is still discovering the world beyond the track, and she’s adapting well to retired life. She enjoys her walks and is perfect on the lead, she relaxes happily afterwards, and is looking forward to appreciating all the little comforts of home living. Meet Lennox the gorgeous whippet puppy, Lennox has a friendly, affectionate nature and loves everyone he meets. He’s little gentle, sweet, and always eager to please everyone. Whether it’s cuddling up on the sofa, playing in the garden, going for a walk, or simply being by your side, Lennox is happiest when he’s been loved. Isla retired from racing as she wasnt very fast so she is hoping to find her forever home faster than she can run, Isla is a beautiful 3-year-old Greyhound with a sweet and gentle nature. She is calm, affectionate, and just enjoys life, making her a lovely companion to have around the home.
Isla is absolutley beautiful inside and out, She is clean in her kennel, walks nicely on the lead, and is well-mannered overall. Isla would make a wonderful companion and bring joy wherever she goes.
