Nial

Greyhound - Male - 3 years

Say hello to our gorgeous boy Nial. He is just perfect in every way and is taking retirement in his stride. He is friendly and well behaved, he enjoys the simple things in life, food, a nice walk and dozing in his bed. He will make the perfect pet. Nial just can’t wait to be someone's dog and best friend.

Nial will be 4 on the 17th of July and would love to be spending his Birthday with his own person.

Bobby

Greyhound - Male - 4 years

Meet Bobby. He he a sweet, quiet natured boy. Bobby was very nervous when he first came to us but his confidence has greatly improved. Bobby likes the simple things in life, food, walks and sleep. Bobby will still need a someone who is patient and prepared to give him time to settle in. This patience will rewarded with love and companionship.

Arlo

Greyhound - Male - 2 years

This beautiful, gentle-natured boy is currently in foster care & doing brilliantly. He loves nothing more than cuddles & affection, & he’s a dream on the lead. He loves everyone he meets, as well as wanting to make friends with other dogs of all sizes on his walkies. Currently living with one other dog & has no food aggression at all. Although he can be a little anxious when left alone, he is having training to combat this. He enjoys his car rides & will absolutely make a lovely additional to any home.

Wull (Wool)

Greyhound - Female - 4 years

Wull has come direct to Greyhound Rescue North East from the racing industry.

Wull has a lovely sweet nature and is hopeful that she will soon a find a home of her own. She likes having her crazy 10 minutes and peaceful naps. Wull is friendly and just wants everyone to love her.She gets on well with other dogs and will make a fab addition to anyone’s family.

Jaxxi

Greyhound - Female - 6 years

Jaxxi has come direct to Greyhound Rescue North East from the racing industry.

Jaxxi can be shy and a little nervous in new situations but it is well worth the little extra time to get to know her. She is well mannered and affectionate with people and other dogs. She walks well on the lead and is clean in her kennel.

If you have space in your home and heart for Jaxxi, she will love you forever.

Bella

Greyhound - Female - 3 years

Bella is enjoying life at the kennels. She is sweet, quiet girl. She is also a little timid so needs a quiet environment and needs her person to be patient and give her time to settle into life as house dog – this commitment will be rewarded with all the love and companionship Bella has to offer.

Jimmy

Greyhound - Male - 

Jimmy has a real zest for life and happily greets each new day. He is a small boy who walks well on his lead and responds positively to everyone he meets. Jimmy will be a loyal friend and bright family member in his forever home.

Brindie

Greyhound - Male - 5 years

Brindie has come to us from a home. His person was unable to continue caring for him for medical reasons. Before coming to us he had lived in his home for for 15 months. 

We can't believe Brindie is still with us and although he has adapted well to kennel life, he would prefer to be back in a home. He really is an absolute sweetheart, he walks well on his lead, is friendly with people and other dogs and because he has lived in a house he is also house trained. He really will make some lucky person the perfect companion.

Pandora - RESERVED

Greyhound - Female - 5 years

Pandora is now reserved but lots of her friends are still waiting patiently to be noticed.

Pandora has come direct to Greyhound Rescue North East from the racing industry.

Pandora is waiting patiently for the right person to come along and fall in love with her. And who could resist, she really is the sweetest, most loving girl. She enjoys treats, sleeping and a nice walk. Pandora is clean in her kennel and is ready to learn what it’s like to live in a home.

Jean

Greyhound - Female - 3 years

Jean has spent all her life in racing kennels but is now loving retirement here at Greyhound Rescue North East. Jean is one of our more energetic girls, she still gets slightly excited when she meets new people but don’t let that put you off from considering welcoming her into your home and life. She is also friendly, loving and affectionate. Jean is looking for her own garden and someone to enjoy walks with her; if you can offer Jean this you will have a friend for life.

Jess - Homed

Greyhound - Female - 3 years

Jess has now gone off to to start her new life, it would be amazing if some of her friends were moving on to their forever homes.

Jess is enjoying her life as a retired girl at the kennels. She is friendly and loving and will make the perfect companion. Jess asks for very little out of life, a bowl of good and something to drink, a nice walk and somewhere to rest afterwards. Do you have place in your life and your heart for Jess?

Sally

Greyhound - Female - 2 years

Sally is just bursting with personality. She is pleased to see everyone and soon calms down once she knows she has your attention. She is a friendly, affectionate girl who enjoys her meals and walk on nice day. Sally will make a perfect pet and will soon adjust to being a house dog.

Tom

Greyhound - Male - 3 years

Tom is a fun and full of life boy, he smiles at you and loves his cuddles. He is clean in his kennel and is very sociable with the other dogs at the kennels. Tom has the most friendly and inquisitive nature, he jumps up with his ears pricked up if he thinks there’s someone coming or something going on. Tom walks well on his lead and enjoys spending time outside. He will make a wonderful companion and bring character and fun to any home.

Bob

Greyhound - Male - 3 years

Meet Bob, he’s a very big boy but is a gentle giant who loves spending time with humans and being made a fuss of. He walks well on his lead and is friends with everyone he meets. Bob came to us with a sore leg but it’s all fixed now and he is ready to spend the rest of his days taking gentle walks and relaxing on the sofa.

Dixie

Greyhound - Female - 3 years

Dixie recently retired from and she’s settled into life in the GRNE kennels as if she’s been here forever. She gets on well with everyone she meets, dogs and humans. Dixie is happy no matter what she is doing, playing, walking, sleeping or just chilling out. She has a healthy appetite and can’t wait for meal times and treats. This gorgeous girl is ready and waiting for her forever home.

Symphony - Homed

Greyhound - Female - 3 years

Symphony has now left the kennels for a home of her own, she'd really like it if more of her kennel mates could find their forever home.

Meet Symphony, a friendly, happy girl who loves each day and takes everything in her stride. She settled in quickly to retired life at the kennels and is always happy to see us… especially if we come with food – Symphony adores her treats. She walks well on her lead and is clean in her kennel.

Tommy

Greyhound - Male- 3 years

This handsome boy is Tommy and he is loving his retirement. Tommy is laid back and very relaxed, you could even say he’s a little bit lazy, but he still enjoys a walk and is a pleasure to take out on his lead. He is loving and friendly with everyone he meets. After spending his life in kennels he’s hoping he will soon have his own sofa to relax on and enjoy life as house dog with someone to make a fuss of him and bring him a bowl of food and the occasional treat.

Lilly 

Greyhound - Female - 3 years

Lilly is new to the rescue and is an absolute treasure. Meal times are always a favourite with Lilly, she also likes being made a fuss of. She is a fun friendly girl who enjoys her walks and behaves well on her lead when she is out and about. She also enjoys getting back to the kennels for treats and a little nap. Lilly is looking for someone to share these simple pleasures in life with her. Could that be you?

Krissy - Photo to follow

Greyhound - Female - 4 years

Krissy turned 4 in April and joined us on her quest to start life as a pet dog. She is already loving life at the kennels. She has made lots dog and human friends because of her friendly bubbly nature. Krissy walks well her lead and enjoys a good walk on a nice day. She also enjoys her food, especially treat time. Krissy will make a fabulous pet and is ready and waiting for her new life to begin.

Cats

Although some greyhounds can live with a cat, unfortunately we do not have any dogs whom we can confirm are cat tolerant.

Veterinary Information

All our dogs are sent out to new homes neutered, fully vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms.
