When you adopt a rescue dog you won't change the world but you will change the world for the dog you adopt.
When you have been matched with your dog we are happy to reserve him or her. However, we can now only reserve a dog for 2 weeks.
We want to help as many dogs as possible and if the kennels are full of dogs who already have their home, it blocks the space for all the lovely deserving dogs who are waiting to join us. Consequently, when prospective forever people visit there aren't any dogs for them to be matched with. We appreciate your support and understanding - it helps us help as many dogs as possible.

Barbie - Homed
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (29.05.2021)
Barbie is a fantastic girl, she is has great personality and think that everyday “is the best day ever”. She has settled in well to her new life at the rescue kennels and will be equally adaptable to life as a house dog in her new home. Barbie enjoys her food, chilling out on her bed, as well as her walks, she is also good on her lead, so walking her is a pleasure. Her friendly, inquisitive and affectionate nature means she loves being showered with love and attention.

Wolf
Greyhound - Male - 2 years (23.10.21)
Don’t be misled by the name, Wolf is a gentle sweetheart. He is friendly and happy to see everyone he meets. He has settled in well to rescue life and will be equally adaptable to a home environment. Wolf is a typical friendly, well behaved greyhound who enjoys his food and a walk on a nice day, as well someone to give him cuddles and attention. Could you be the person to give Wolf the attention, cuddles and loving home he is looking for?

Storm Reserved
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (01/09/2021)
Meet Storm. This beautiful, gentle girl is a pleasure to be around. She is very friendly and she loves nothing more than cuddles and affection. She walks well on her lead and is pleased to see everyone.
Storm is happy no matter what she is doing, playing, walking, sleeping or just chilling out. She has a healthy appetite and can’t wait for meal times and treats. Storm is ready to move on to life as a house dog.

Sparky
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (01.10.21)
Sparky is enjoying life at Greyhound Rescue North East. She has a sparkling lively personality, just as her name suggests, she brightens up every day. She has enthusiasm for everyday things like her food and walks. Sparky is a well behaved girl, she is clean and well behaved in her kennel and walks well on her lead. She will make a fantastic companion when someone picks her to be their forever dog.

Zeus - Reserved
Lurcher - Saluki X Greyhound X Collie - 4 years
Zeus is a lovely boy, friendly fun, affectionate - he is everything someone would want in a dog. He walks well on his lead and enjoys his time outdoors. He is friendly with other dogs of all breeds. He is exceptionally friendly with his human companions and is good around children. Zeus is enjoying life at the kennels but will be delighted when someone comes along and picks him to be their dog.

Flyer
Greyhound - Male - 4 years (14 June 2020)
Flyer has just turned 4 and is the perfect dog. He is a laid-back, friendly boy and enjoys every new day. H can’t wait to find a home of his own, where he can enjoy playing in the garden and spending time relaxing on the sofa. Flyer is clean in his kennel and walks well on the lead. He will bring joy to the life of anyone who opens their heart to him and welcomes him into their home.

Belle - Homed
Greyhound - Female - April 2021
Belle has joined us directly from the racing industry and is loving life at the kennels. She is sweet, calm and loving girl with a cute face and a sparkling personality, she really is the perfect pet dog in every way. She enjoys meal times and walks followed by some chill out time on the sofa. Belle is clean in her kennel and has adapted quickly to her new life at the rescue. Sooty - Homed
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (May 2021)
This gorgeous little lass is Sooty. She is a friendly and loving girl who will make the perfect companion. Sooty enjoys the basic pleasures in life, a bowl of food and something to drink, a walk in the fresh air and a nice comfy bed to rest in and recharge her batteries. Greyhound - Female - 2 years (08.05.2022)
This gorgeous young girl is brightening up every day at the rescue. She is clean in her kennel and walks well on her lead and. She is a sociable girl who is enjoying becoming friends with all her kennel mates and the people at the rescue. Her sweet and affectionate personality will make her a welcome edition to any home.

Ruby
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (22 May 2021)
Like most of our dogs Ruby has come direct to Greyhound Rescue North East from the racing industry. She is settling in well to rescue life. She has a lovely sweet nature and will no doubt settle in just as well to life as a house dog. She likes having her crazy 10 minutes and peaceful naps. Ruby is friendly and just wants everyone to love her. She gets on well with other dogs and will make a fab addition to anyone’s family.

Scouser
Lurcher- Male - 5 years
Scouser is a Saluki Greyhound cross. His appearance is mix of both breeds.
Scouser joined the rescue with his companion Angel. She quickly found her forever home but Scouser is still waiting for his special person to come along.
He has spent his life in kennels but don't let that put you off. He is clean and well behaved in his kennel so with a little guidance, and a lot of love he will soon settle into home like he's always lived there.
Scouser is a very confident and friendly lad. He is bright and alert, he enjoys food and plenty of exercise, both on his lead and during playtime in enclosed outside space. He also really enjoys his food and relaxation time to recover from his outdoor activities.

Pearl - Homed
Greyhound - Female - 3 years (13.07.2020)
Pearl has retired and is living her best life. She enjoys everyday and brightens up the day for everyone she meets. Pearl is a friendly and affectionate girl who loves attention and companionship. She also enjoys a good walk on a nice, she walks very well on her lead so the walk is also a pleasure for the lucky person who is accompanying her. Food is another of life's necessities that Pearl enjoys as well as plenty of chill-out time on comfy bed or seat. Pearl can’t wait to experience life as a house dog, could that next stage of her life be with you?

Jess has settled in well to her new life at the rescue. She can seem a little shy at first but soon makes friends with everyone she meets.
