When you adopt a rescue dog you won't change the world but you will change the world for the dog you adopt.
When you have been matched with your dog we are happy to reserve him or her. However, we can now only reserve a dog for 2 weeks.
We want to help as many dogs as possible and if the kennels are full of dogs who already have their home, it blocks the space for all the lovely deserving dogs who are waiting to join us. Consequently, when prospective forever people visit there aren't any dogs for them to be matched with. We appreciate your support and understanding - it helps us help as many dogs as possible.

Mike
Greyhound - male - 3 years old (22nd Oct 2022)
Mike is a handsome greyhound with a gentle, nature who’s ready to find his forever home. He’s a calm and well-mannered lad who takes everything in his stride.
Mike is clean in his kennel and is dream on the lead, making him a pleasure to walk and a great candidate for home life. Like many greyhounds, he enjoys his walks but is just as happy relaxing and snoozing in a comfy spot afterwards.
He’s polite, affectionate, and enjoys human company without being demanding. Mike would suit a home looking for a laid-back companion who fits easily into daily routines.

We are looking for a loving home for Iggy and Bluebell. They are a brother and sister who have been together since birth and share an incredibly close bond, so we would love for them to be rehomed as a pair.
Both are typical Whippets—gentle, affectionate, but both love off lead time together they never leave each others sides.
They have lovely temperaments and make wonderful companions.

G is a handsome greyhound with a relaxed, easy-going nature that’s very typical of the breed. He’s well behaved and just a joy to have a round, He's enjoying his comforts just as much as his walks,
G has settled into Greyhound Rescue real quick, so settling into his new home wont be much of a problem for him
He is clean in his kennel, walks nicely on the lead, and is well-mannered overall. Gee would make a wonderful companion and bring happiness wherever he goes.

Jean is a beautiful little greyhound who has joined us at Greyhound Rescue North East. Young, bright, and full of charm, she’s quickly captured hearts with her gentle nature and playful spirit. Jean loves to be around people and takes everything in her stride — she’s curious, affectionate, and always happy to see a friendly face.
Jean is still discovering the world beyond the track, and she’s adapting well to retired life. She enjoys her walks and is perfect on the lead, she relaxes happily afterwards, and is looking forward to appreciating all the little comforts of home living.

Beautiful lad Paddy has only just joined us after retiring from racing
He has settled into his new environment really well taking everything in his stride,
He enjoys good walks and is happy to get out and about, making him a great companion for relaxed strolls or longer outings. Calm, affectionate, and eager to please

Spice is a beautiful greyhound girl new into rescue, she gets along with everyone she meet so far both in and outdoors she just loves a fuss and a tail wag
She walks perfect when out on her daily walk, but also enjoys spending the rest of her day chilling, waking up for dinner and treats,

Crafty is an easy-going, affectionate boy who has so much to offer. He walks beautifully on the lead, making him a pleasure to take out and about, and he absolutely loves a cuddle and spending time with his people.
He's very clean in his kennel, which suggests house training should be straightforward in his new home. With his gentle nature and good manners, Crafty would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal and loving best friend.

Darlow is a stunning five-year-old greyhound with a gentle heart and an easygoing nature. He’s been living in a loving foster home where he’s shown what a wonderful companion he is — calm, affectionate, and always ready for a cuddle. Darlow has adjusted beautifully to home life and has proven to be a kind, gentle soul who enjoys company and quiet naps.
Darlow is now looking for a permanent foster home. This means you welcome him into your heart and home just as you would your own dog — providing love, care, and companionship — while we continue to cover all vet bills. Darlow came to us with a broken leg, which has healed well. We don’t anticipate any ongoing medical treatment, but we don’t want his past injury to stand in the way of finding his forever person.
He’s a wonderful boy to have around — friendly with people, gentle on the lead, and happiest when he’s part of everyday family life. Darlow truly deserves a home where he can continue to enjoy comfort, affection, and the warmth of belonging. Jessie is a lovely young lurcher with a gentle and sensitive nature. She can be a little shy when she first meets new people or experiences new things, but with patience and reassurance she quickly starts to relax and show her sweet personality.
She is very good on the lead and enjoys quiet walks, walking nicely and taking confidence from her handler. Jessie loves having the chance to stretch her legs, but she’s just as happy to settle down afterwards for some peaceful time.
Indoors, Jessie is calm and well-mannered, enjoying a cosy bed and the company of her people. She would thrive in a kind, understanding home where she can continue to grow in confidence and feel safe. Jessie is a gentle girl who will make a loyal and loving companion.
